We all (assumption made) have more than one direct debit running at any one time. With MyPaymentsHub the intention was to bring all of those into one single location.
With the introduction of the NPP, Paypa Plane was well positioned to take advantage of it’s early leader position to leverage the new face of recurring payments and bring them all into one place. That place was MyPaymentsHub.
Diversity is in the incredibly broad range of recurring payments and their reasons for being.
Diversity's in all of us, the users of these modern, convenient, set and forget transaction we all need in our busy lives.
That diversity would be displayed in the imagery of the users. Humans off all walks of live, age brackets, industries and backgrounds. Desaturated of colour to bring all together.
The diversity will also be displayed in the endless range of patterns representing the endless configuration of recurring payments.
Based around the concepts of connectedness and fluidity but I also wanted it to represent structure and strength.
This was a brand that was brought together quite quickly.
To echo the muted, strong, controlled and structured feel of the brand, the colour is paired back to allow product to shine through.
Applying basic colour principles the colours were selected to invoke warmth, strength and trust with enough potential for bright moments to draw focus.
With the very strong understanding I have of the potential layering and complexity of recurring payments, gained through experience there’s a feeling that no two payments are the same.
The feeling of transferring that into a multitude of patterns, no two of which are the same has a nice connection.
These patterns, as energetic and busy as they are have a clear structure and order to them. Perfect for recurring payments where clear, communicated structure is key.
Recurring payments are used by all sections of society so the people chosen are varied, diverse and real.
To help establish the link between a wholly digital finance product and traditional banking we all know images of bricks and mortar banks are also used to draw trust and reliability.
The most striking visual assets generated for the brand exist at the intersection of the people and the patterns.
Overlaying or clipping these to two elements creates some powerful and recognisable brand assets for My Payments Hub, that has boundless opportunity or could be pinned down do a set of representative patterns/shapes for the brand.
Time for further development didn’t extend beyond basic first-thought visuals for the web and mobile app space but the assets leave so much opportunity for powerful and captivating visuals.
